This unique charity run is the first of its kind in Singapore as there has never been a charity run organized by both an animal welfare organization, SOSD, and a human charity organization, Assisi Hospice, to raise funds, using a single platform. There are 3 types of run (2km dog run, 5km or 10km human run), for the participants and their furry pals to take part in, and its one of the largest charity event that The Pet’s Couture had participated in.
The theme “Light Up Your Life” celebrates the mission of both charities: to heal, to bring comfort, and to bring hope to those in need. Held on 3rd October 2015, Light Up Your Life Run invited Guest Of Honour, Mr Tan Chuan Jin, Minister for Social and Family Development of Singapore, to grace this event and witness Guinness Record for largest dog run for Singapore!
Exclusively designed Peluré walking caps with a cute little slogan “Never stop giving, I'm a charity baby”, was available for sale at The Pet’s Couture booth to raise funds in conjunction with this event. These limited edition caps were very well received, with all 4 sizes snapped within the 4 hours run. As part of our practice, a portion from the day’s sales goes to charity, with SOSD and Assisi Hospice as the beneficiaries.
With the blessings of windy and clear weather on that day amidst the haze season, the event was a huge success despite initial doubts if the run would have to be cancelled. Everyone that participated including our furry friends, gave it their all and did the best for charity, including The Pet’s Couture team who showed up in full force for the event even though our team had been sick from the past weeks of haze.
